Soviet Occupation Museum

The Museum of Soviet occupation is the part of the National Museum of Georgia. It was formed in 2006 from the archives of the Georgian security service.

The museum features over 3000 exhibits including photographs, documents and all the staff related to Soviet Georgia since 1921. The collection also includes the personal items of famous persons from Georgia who had contributions to the Soviet Union. One of the unique expositions of the museum is a part of the wagon in which the insurgents were transported and later sentenced to death in 1924. The documentary films and shots of events of those times are constantly broadcast in the museum.

The museum differs from standard and older ones with its new approach of presenting unique expositions. Dim light, highlights, music – all these give a unique aura.

Museum of Soviet Occupation is located in Tbilisi, Shota Rustaveli Avenue 3. It is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00.
