Introduction

Lose yourself in Georgia for 5 days and enjoy the perfect combination of natural beauty and well-preserved history during Georgia Short Break Tour, covering the most interesting sights and scenic landscapes. From vibrant Tbilisi to the magic of Caucasus Mountains, Georgia will captivate you!

Day 1 - Arrival

Day 2 - Mtskheta - Tbilisi City Tour

Tbilisi - sulfur baths - Metekhi

After breakfast, we drive to Mtskheta - beautifully renovated town belonging to the 2nd half of the 1st millennium BC, the first capital of Georgia. Nowadays, Mtskheta represents museum-city and is under the protection of UNESCO World Heritage. Here we explore Jvari Monastery, built in the 6th century and continue to Svetitskhoveli Temple – a masterpiece of the Early Middle Ages. It is currently the second largest church building in Georgia, after the Holy Trinity Cathedral. After returning to Tbilisi we have a great opportunity to uncover the capital where interlace ancient culture and up-to-date trends. We start city exploration from the trip to the historical area and visit the Assumption Church. Bridge of Peace, designed by a well-known Italian architect, is our next famous landmark. We continue to an old Armenian church located in the old district of the city and also visit the sulfur baths – famous royal bath complex (XVII-XIX cc.), standing on the warm natural sulfur springs. At the end of the day, we reach Narikala fortress by cable car to enjoy the spectacular view of the whole city. This ancient fortress overlooking Tbilisi was established in the IV century AD.

To tell the truth I did not expect at all that Georgia could be such a popular ski destination. Though we are experienced skiers, we did need an instructor, who as assured was highly professional. We are already considering to travel Georgia one more time in summer next year.

When you like to eat delicious food, you have to come to Georgia. Especially when your guide is Sandro. He knows everything about Georgian traditional cuisine and gave us a lot of information about Georgia. The hotels were amazing, we booked 4-star hotels to be in the very centres of the cities, but there were many great 3-star hotel options close to our hotels too, so I think 3-star hotels would work OK for us a well.
