New Year Tour to Georgia

 

Day 1
  • Arrival at the airport, transfer to the hotel


Day 2
  • Morning trip to Mtskheta - the religious center of Georgia which is under the protection of UNESCO.
  • Climb up the hill to Jvari monastery, built in the 6th century. From the top opens charming
view on the entire town and the confluence of two rivers: Mtkvari and Aragvi.
  • Visit to Svetitskhoveli - the Cathedral of XI century, the main cathedral of Georgia
  • Return to Tbilisi
  • City tour around Tbilisi, during which you will enjoy the festive atmosphere of New Year Tbilisi
  • Stop at Berikaoba monument and continue by foot to Gabriadze Marionette theater Tower.
  • Tour to the historic district of Metekhi  - a historic district of Tbilisi on a high rock overhanging the bank of the Kura River. Here you will visit the Assumption Church and see the monument to Georgian king Vakhtang I Gorgasali, the founder of Tbilisi
  • Visit to one of the most famous city's landmarks - the Bridge of Peace designed by a well-known Italian architect
  • The cable car will take you to the ancient Narikala fortress – the symbol of Tbilisi located on a hill. That's an excellent location for memorable photos.
  • Excursion to the sulfuric baths famous for their unique architecture and interesting old history.
  • Free time. Enjoy yourself in New Year atmosphere in the city.
  • Overnight in Tbilisi


Day 3
  • Free day in Tbilisi during which you will be able to fully enjoy the festive atmosphere of the city.
  • Overnight to Tbilisi


Day 4
  • Departure to the oldest wine region of Georgia, Kakheti
  • Excursion to the convent of Bodbe, where is buried St. Nino – the founder of Christianity in Georgia
  • The tour continues to the cozy renovated town Sighnagi called by the locals «the town of love»
  • Visit to the famous winery Khareba. Here you will have a tour around the factory, degustation of local wines, as well as a master class on baking Georgian bread shoti and making national sweet churchkhela.
  • Return to Tbilisi
  • Overnight in Tbilisi


Day 5
  • Transfer to the airport, departure

          • Winter. Warm clothing, coats, waterproof warm shoes, scarf, gloves. Please note, that to enter Georgian orthodox churches ladies will need to have scarves for covering their heads (they can find some at the entrances). In some cases, ladies will be warned to wear skirts. Short trousers are forbidden in the church.
