Tour to Georgia for Schoolchildren

Day 1

  • Arrival at the airport, transfer to the hotel
  • Excursion to the open-air ethnographic museum located in the beautiful Vake park. There are exhibited miniatures of traditional Georgian houses and farm buildings belonging to different regions of the country.
  • Visit to the Narikala Fortress located on a hill. You will get to the fortress by the cable car and from the height, you can admire the whole city.

Day 2

  • Morning drive to Mtskheta – one of the most ancient towns in Georgia, known as the religious center of the country.
  • The tour will start with the visit to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral – the first and the main church in Georgia.
  • The next stop – Samtavro Monastery, where in the IV century lived and preached St. Nino – the founder of Christianity in Georgia
  • Next you will go up the hill to the Jvari Monastery – the amazing symbol of the Georgian church architecture. According to the legend, at the site of the monastery St. Nino established one of her three crosses.
  • Tour around Chateau Moukhrani winery where you will visit the estate of Prince Ivan Mukhran Batoni, its garden and the ancient cellars, walk through the vineyards, enjoy the taste of the best dishes of Georgian cuisine, have master class of cooking khinkali and horseback riding
  • Return to Tbilisi

Day 3

  • Departure to Kakheti – the picturesque region famous for the producing of excellent Georgian wines. Here the wine is produced by special Kakhetian technology.
  • Tour around Telavi – the center of Kakheti region. Telavi is well-known for its delightful landscapes.
  • Visit to Batonis Tsikhe – the fortress-museum of the famous Georgian king Erekle II
  • Excursion to the Tsinandali estate founded in the XIX century by Alexander Chavchavadze – the famous poet and public figure of Georgia. The estate is known of its amazing labyrinth planted with exotic trees and for wine cellars.
  • Tour to Kvareli, where you will have a master class on baking Georgian bread shoti and making churchkhela. And the parents accompanying the children will be able to try different types of Georgian wine.
  • A trip to the picturesque Ilia Lake, here you can rent a boat or a water bike

Day 4

  • The day will start with the visit to the beautifully renovated town of Sighnaghi – “the town of love”. It is famous for its architecture in the style of southern Italian classicism.
  • Next, you will visit the Bodbe Monastery
  • On the way to Tbilisi, you will visit the “Living Roots” ranch, where you can ride horses and stroll around the ranch.

Day 5

  • This day you will visit the museum of tin soldiers “Iota Royal”. The company “Iota Royal” produces tin (metal) soldiers in the standard of 40 mm. In addition, they produce historical models and use clay, wood and other materials as auxiliary materials.
  • Master class on clay crafting. You will learn how to make clay figures, animals, etc. You can take your work with you for memory.

  • Trip to Ananuri Fortress – a well-preserved castle on the shore of the Zhinvali Reservoir, the former defensive fortress of the feudal era.
  • Excursion to the chocolate factory “Barambo”
  • Not far from Tbilisi in nature, you will take part in the quest “In Search of the Golden Fleece”. To find the Golden Fleece, participants will have to use all the knowledge acquired during the tour, and also will have to overcome obstacles.
  • Return to Tbilisi

        Please note, that to enter Georgian orthodox churches ladies will need to have scarves for covering their heads (they can find some at the entrances). In some cases, ladies will be warned to wear skirts. Short trousers are forbidden in the church.
